Dewoun Hayes has worked as an office professional for over 15 years, starting as a legal secretary. In 1993, she received a Diploma in Executive Secretarial Science from Catherine College where she graduated Valedictorian. She has a certificate in Human Resources from Northwestern University’s School of Continuing Studies and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. Dewoun is currently seeking a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Training.
Dewoun is passionate about personal and professional development and mentors many individuals in order to improve and expand their personal and career development. She has written articles for professional websites such as OfficeArrow and has participated in panel discussions, workshops, and seminars. Her social and professional media network involvement includes: AdminSecret, OfficeArrow, LinkedIn, the American Society of Administrative Professionals, Facebook, the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Toastmasters, and Twitter.
Dewoun is currently the membership chair for the Chicago Lakeshore Chapter of the IAAP and holds the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designation and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS). Dewoun is an aspiring professional development speaker/consultant specializing in communication, leadership skills, and resume and job interview techniques. Dewoun is currently working on a guide to improving job search and interview methods.
